Good, bad, indifferent? Apparently most of today's gears come out of the same factory in South Korea, in different boxes....

If I’m not mistaken, Yukon is the house brand at Randy’s ring and pinion just like Sierra gear is the house brand out of West Coast Differential. These gears come from different manufactures depending on axle make and ratio. I lived near west coast Differentials for 30 years so I’ve run several sets of the Sierra brand gears in different vessels with zero complaints.

Ring and pinion set up is a major contributor to how well gears perform and how long they last.

I have a friend who typically sets up nitros but recently had to get Yukons because nitros been so bad at delivering in a timely manor. Both Yukons were tough to set up and the pinion nut galled. Could be him, could be bad luck, could be Yukon. All aftermarket products seem to be a bit iffy right now.

I have done quite a few Toyota gears over the years, 10 years ago Yukon was a go to gear but now the Nitro gear's seem to be more consistent on set up.
