Whoa, whoa, whoa. Land Cruiser Prado in the US with NC tags?!? I thought those were all Lexus GX models in North America. I would be very interested to know how it ended up in the US.

I would think it is possible rebadge on the outside. Did u see inside? Was it all toyota badging in there?

Yeah it was the real thing. Turned right on my heels and like a crazy person said out loud, "What the hell is that doing here?" Walked behind, saw the tags and said, "how the hell did they do that?"

Lets dream and think that toyota is testing diesel in the states without the press knowing.

Ok, so I've just wasted a bunch of time looking at Prado and GX images online and comparing them to the full size photos I have.
Frankly the idea of rebadging your vehicle to proclaim its something other than what it is is so absurd to me that I really never would have considered this.
Things I noticed:
Prado can come with running boards and the trim pieces mention above do exist on the Prado
The rear lift gate is different than the GX (though maybe the large chrome trim panel can be stuck on either)
The front bumper bumper doesn't match the GX, but the horizontal grill seems to run counter to the Prado's (kinda Jeepy) vertical grill slats.
Perhaps it is a fake. I don't know, but the idea of spending time and money to do that is, to me, sofa king read Todd did.

That is rebadged a 2012 GX. Three things stick out
1) I can't find a single picture where the factory Prado grill has horizontal fins. Prado grills have 6 vertical fins.
2) 2012 Prado has a lower grill that extends between the fog lights but does not encompass them.
3) The vertical lower tail lights don't exist on a Prado
4) The badge on the back should look like a Foo Manchu mustache.
God love the internet. I need to get back to work.
