Clearly I'm not smart enough to figure out how to edit posts... I'm active with the NCFJ group and always up for a meet and greet here and there with occasional wrenching days thrown in for good measure. I've somehow become the lift installation and light wiring guru for the group there.
Saw a nice grey 40th 80 on Cherry Point today, it was in great shape.

17x9 Liquid Metal Gatlin-- long since discontinued, but I love the look. Yeah, I was actually working on drawings of the unit next door for a prospective buyer.
I'll happily join on a ride at some point and hopefully have some things beefed up under the truck between now and then. I got some skid plates back on yesterday, but need to replace my front spindles and rear lower links before I completely snap them. I've got a pair of spindles freshly gusseted, but still need to get some new lower links, grind the OEM mounts off and weld on the new Ruff Stuff mounts that are taking space up on my work bench. It's a good thing URE closes for the winter...

Here's a couple of 40s I saw over the weekend. The white one is a '79, it's pretty clean with a mild lift and stock drivetrain. It's from Raleigh. My buddy was installing a new carb on it. The red one is a '74. It's solid and has a small block 400. It belongs to a guy in Hillsborough. Another friend is doing 4 wheel disc brakes on it soon.

That was me. That place is rediculous. You would think it was the only gas for 4 counties and there was a shortage coming.
Were you in the Pickup? I went straight to six forks and also saw a lifted and roofracked 100. Dark gray. Bunch of 80s on hwy 40 this trip to RDU......few waves but didnt recognize anyone.
That station is crazy, been there a number of times. Doesn't make any sense, its not cheap or anything. I was in the white suburban that you pulled up behind. Saw the 100 around 7 on six forks.

There is a lemon colored 40 in great condition but missing a top behind a fence at the little mechanics place (fransico or something like that) on South blvd between clanton and scaley bark.
The mechanics is right across from the lite rail station and next to the auto zone.

From what I saw sitting at the light across the street it is incredibly clean, the pics don't do it justice.... still not sure why it doesn't have to top on it especially with the weather lately.
