Replaced the motor in my rear heater. Worked for a day. Now the little light does not work on the switch so I think it is shot. I need the rear heater switch for a 72 PIG. Thanks all.

Not sure about lights on the switches on a 72, but my 77 does NOT have lit $witches. I might have one.... Going out to the garage soon, I'll post back.

It is not lighted for seeing purposes. it just has a little orange light to let you know it is on.....

switch like this

Looks like the one in this pic.

The little white dot designates the on position - there is no light in the OEM rear heater switch.

That's right!! There IS a light in the dash though just about the switch location.

Not USA OEM I wouldn't think. Not in the 7/70, 7/75 or the 78 I have had close ups of.

There is on my '76 which is a US truck. It's mounted on the underside of the dash. It comes on with the lights.

Not stock.

Might want to look for one out of a coffee maker or go back to a stock switch.

Please, Post a photo.
BTW SOR Online shows they have the switch. I have one off of a 7/70 which allegedly goes 68-73

I have one on my 3/'77 pig, but not on my 3/'70 pig. Must have changed sometime after 1970... Definitely stock/OEM though.

Gee I am not sure how a 37 year old could get his colors confused. I guess I will run down to Wal Mart and buy a coffea maker and switch it out with the one that is in my truck with a small ORANGE light to the side of the switch that illuminates when the heater is turned to the on position but is not working now. Thanks for the hint TH. Coffee maker....good one.

It is called a heater light. It's just not in the switch. Pretty sure they all had a green tint also.

Looks like a 40 style dash lamp...which in a 55 would light the area of the heater controls as the 40 dash lamp lights the switch area.

Some True Values have bins of switches.
