Aloha Guys!

Looking for an Fj40 to live out its days in Hawaii. Don't really want to exceed a budget of 8k for this project. Would love something clean and relatively rust free, but I am realistic about my budget. Not too particular about the year. Would prefer one mechanically sound over cosmetically pretty, actually looking forward to making it beautiful again. Do not want any engine conversions or heavily modified, so the more original the better. Geographically, something on the west coast would be easiest for me to ship to Oahu. Let me know if you hear of any that would work for me. Mahalo,

Jen

Clean, rust free, mechanically sound? Tall order Jen. 8K would certainly be a bargain. Bringing an FJ40 over from CA is about $1000.
Hey, a girl can dream cant she?! Rust that is fixable is fine, I guess I was referring to being free of the really cancerous rust.

That one is definitely worth looking into...nice find!

That is a nice find. But nowhere near stock. I've got a rust free mechanically sound one for sale that isn't lifted for 8 grand. But the hardtop isn't painted, it's got flares on it, and fuel injection. And it's in the northeast. It was originally being set up for an older not mechanically-inclined woman to have at her place in the Virgin Islands. But they sold the house before it ever made it there.

Check this one out - currently on Craigslist.

Yes, I have been looking at that one for a while. It's been listed for the last four months, he had it for 12.5k and just recently lowered it to 8. It's got some issues, like a diamond plate dashboard and the back half door welded in place.

It is definitely a possibility, especially since he just lowered to around my budget. My husband spoke to him two days ago, and he said he had someone flying out Monday to take a look. If that deal falls through we might fly out there to check it out, it's out on Kauai.

Can you PM me or email (mmoody53@yahoo.com) the details/photos of the one your selling? Thanks.

So strange, your MUD notification to me came in at the exact same time I was looking at that CL post! Can you PM me the details on the price that includes the hard top and doors? Also, how is the rust on the body and frame? We have a really good friend not to far from you in Kilauea that could possibly come take a look. Thanks,
Jen
