i am looking to buy a late 70's fj40... I lve in south carolina and want a good one (no junk) I am will ing to pay 5 to 6 thousand$. but it must run great ( I will be using it as a daily driver) and wnat the body to be in good shape, and hard top. dont care much about having to do some cosmedic work on the body and interier... let me know , thanks

Where in SC are ya? I hate to tell ya, if you're only willin to pay 5 or 6 thousand you're gonna be doin some body work. I bought mine 4 and have re done the brakes put in a weber and header and would sell mine for around 6 as is. But I've got rust in my floor boards, I plan on cuttin out and welding in new plates. Once I do that then the price is gonna go up. If you want somethin that you don't have to do work to you're gonna spend 10-15,000. Landcruisers are aka money pits. So if you wanna spend 5 to 6 for a vehicle you might wanna consider another vehicle.

I believe you can find one mechanically sound for that price range, you might have a hard time finding one actually in SC, not a lot of cruisers here............... but like I said you could find one for that price just might have to ship it a long ways back to SC
