Todd,

My username changed check it out. Now I can buy any LC and keep my identity. I would buy another 80 if I could find a really really cheap one with a supercharger or a diesel I could tweek for towing.

I sent you an email, and got no reply, I have a 100 for sale for ya.

2000 Champagne, third row, sunroof, stock, 138K. I'd be happy with $14,500.
It has new brakes, and stock Mich's with about 75% left.

Interior is 8 out of 10, (faux woodgrain is looking it's age, seats are great for the usage)
Exterior is 9 out of 10 (has wheel well moldings, hood deflector and sunroof deflector, all off the truck, but pretty new)
Mechanically, it just had an 02 replaced (Bosch with real connector), and brakes, and it runs perfect.

I've not wheeled it, and it has never been wheeled.

Local truck from Coastal NC, the guy bought it new, passed away at 48yrs, and his widow had to title it to herself, so a carfax may reveal 3 owners, but really I'm the second... I've had it a couple months, and I just picked it up as a DD.

Great Rig or DD, if you wanted something like this.

Matt,

I sent you another email. I don't think the first one made it. I'm in Idaho and I'd have to add shipping and that makes in impractical for me.

Thanks for the offer. Good luck on your sale.

Thanks Kliers! I'm scared of the supercharged 80s. It would be cool to have one, but there are so many problems I've read about with them running lean.

The 100 I've already been in contact with.

did this have to many miles. its a one owner in boise with all the scheduled maintence done. not bad.

Eric, that is not to much. I sold my very first 100 with those miles to a friend. He now as 270k miles on it. We do all the maintenance and it has been very little. We are putting reconditioned CV's in next week, mostly due to the boots leaking and it is easier to swap them with remans than reboot.

We have done the timing belt/waterpump etc twice and the regular wheel bearings quite a few times. Other than that, the truck has been really good to him.

You will be really happy with a 100 with what you want to do with it.

Also, did you see the 2002 LX470 on here? That is also a good buy.

Christo, Thanks for the info.

Jared, I'm avoiding the dark colors. Maroon and Black are on my avoid at all costs list. I did drive a 00 Black in Boise with 86k on it, they wanted 17,900 for it. It was at Lithia. After how they treated me I probably wouldn't buy it from them for 15k.

There is a silver 99 in SLC that interests me. About 90k on it, no timing belt yet. Looks really clean. Originally a FL truck. They were asking 15,500. It is a private party.

I'm holding off for the moment. My 80 is still in my garage and I don't want to take on another Cruiser project until this one leaves. I thought it was leaving this Friday, but the buyer is having some passport problems so there has been a delay. I'm not sure how long.

I'm also thinking of waiting awhile it seems like the prices have started to drop a little. If I could get an 03 with the bigger motor that would be my first choice. But if I can't I may as well get a 98/99 as I could save 5-8k and have a similar performing truck as the later models. Everything I've looked at no matter what year seems to be in the 85-100k range. It looks like folks dump them when they get to the first major service.

Eric this is too funny! I am moving back to utah next month and trying to buy a vehicle (100 or LX) and want to purchase it out west to save from shuttling another vehicle from chicago. I think we are looking at all the same rigs. I have talked to both of the 100 series on craigslist in SLC about thiers (both under 16k) and i talked with lithia this week.

i dont think you will have to wait to long. I have seen 100's under 18K with under 100k miles on them pretty consistently lately. there may be a bit of a price jump when winter hits but i can imagine it will be more than 1-1.5k.

best of luck with the search. if you pass up on any good deals let me know.

cheers

Jared

FWIW, I think that the 98-00 models had a weaker front axle than the later models. That may not matter depending on how you want to use it, but odds are it will eventually see some dirt time.

Don't think the motor got bigger in 03, tranny went from 4 speed to a 5 speed.

John

That is correct, the motor didn't get bigger but it has more horsepower. 2006 was 275hp. I guess the 03s didn't have more hp just the 5 speed trannies. This whole 100 thing is just a blur to me. To date, I've driven 1 98, 1 05, 1 00 LX, and 1 00 LC. The 5 speed tranny in the 05 sure did make it seem like it had more HP.

Eric, i know this is more $ than your planning, but the mileage caught my attention. Salesman dropped to 30k on the spot. Let me know if I can help.
