Spent an hour removing all the wood in the 80. Whoever put the stuff on must have been very concerned about it coming off and covered almost the entire backing of the wood pieces with double stick.

Made one big mistake and was trying to pry the big piece next to the transfer case shifter with a screwdriver and gouged the plastic a little. A plastic putty knife and Goof-off worked better on the rest.

Dude, about time you pulled all the junk out. You should have given me a ring, you leave the heater on high for about 30 minutes and it practically comes right off.

BTW Jen saw your 80 driving downtown.

Cory,
Now we have twin screwdriver gouged consoles. For those reading, wrap the removal tool in masking tape or use plastic tools. A chisle is a bit crude. :D

Cory,

I can't believe I actually posted this same thing last week and you didn't acknowledge it. I think I'm almost up to 25 posts now. Will's idea is genius. The wood trim comes off with your fingers in complete section. Aside from the ashtray the I didn't even have to wipe off any residue.
