Arms done, blocks next

The arms and cable plates are at powder coating and should be ready by about Wed. The blocks for the 60 and 80 are going off to anodizing tomorrow and should be ready by Wed/Thurs. Table covers are going to be laser etched on Wed and will be ready by the following Monday at the latest. This means the Gentex Mirror Arms will be ready to ship in just over a week. ;)

any advice on getting the gentex temp sensor to work correctly? it seems since I installed mine it never reads a proper outside temp. I have it mounted on the front bumper away from the radiator. It usually reads way too cool for the outside temp, usually is stuck near 40 degrees for whatever reason. I may just get a new sensor as the one I bought is used. Curious how often these sensors go bad?

How far off is it reading? I have mine mounted behind the middle of the grill, on the support bar in front of the radiator. The fan seems to do a pretty good job of drawing air across it. Based on local weather, it reads pretty spot on.

I must just have a bad sensor, anyone have the part # to order a new one?

Sooooo funny story...

I just got a S&D letter from Gentex. :hmm:

Why would they do that? It's not like you are making their morrors. Maybe you just need to stop using their name -- afterall it was just a spelling error. Didn't you mean to type Generic Mirror Arm...;)

Sease and Desist or Cease and Desist? Either way, why would they have a problem with you helping their business?! o_O

Well that was gut-wrenching...
Glad it was a simple fix; for a second I was being selfish and thought I wouldn't get to install Joey's fabled GENeric TEXas Mirror arms, phew.

I would suggest he use “Jen Techs” but then the black hand would probably ban it for being inappropriate or “pornographic”. Amirite @Aloha Jen?!?!
I think it is a perfectly appropriate rename for it, especially considering all of the Tech knowledge ive provided this forum over the years!

I still cant believe someone complained that the pictures I posted were porn. Just a swim suit at the beach, nothing scandalous. And the bikini was pretty tame as well....it wasn’t even one of my teenie tiny Brazilian style bikinis, which are pretty standard any day of the week here in Hawaii as well. Ok, pent up rant over, back to my tech contributions. We could advertise like this:

Jen Techs....when you are serious about mirror functionality.

I really can't believe it either. It's like poeple have never taken their kids to a beach!

I really do appreciate your Tech contributions as well....especially for the DIYers among us. Keep it up! On both fronts! Many members have your back.
