Need some help with the following dilemma :

In the process of tearing apart my very dusty RHD intermittent wiper motor on my '84 HJ47, I somehow broke pieces off those three electromagnets (?) things that sit on the motor shaft (see pic) between the motor wire coils and the grooved shaft that engages the plastic gear. They're part of the wired cover of the black motor housing.

Any tips to repair or does anyone know a resource to fix it?

Thanks!

Those are carbon brushes. You can replace them with tool brushes.

I and other people have posted the method in the past. Do a search on wiper and my username.

sweet! I will do that search now that I know what they’re called.

Thank you sir!

I have these 2 friends , U are welcome to them , just cover the Ride

Probably knocked the ends off when pulling the armature shaft out.
When looking for replacements you may not be able to find an exact match.
Try to match hardness of brush a close as possible.
As for size you might not find a good match there either.
I have gotten slightly larger and shaped them to a perfect fit.
If you can find a small motor re-builder close by they might be able to get you what you need.
When putting the motor back together take some fairly long strands of copper wire from some scrap and loop them around the braided brush wire then pull the brushes back to clear the shaft opening and securing them.
Then you can then slide the armature in place with out bunging up the brushes.
The thin wire can then be easily removed by gently pulling one end of the wire slipping them out.

Thank you, everyone, for the advice! I have a game plan now.

(and thanks @RAGINGMATT for the motor parts offer, but it looks like those brushes are just a couple bucks from a hardware store for the fix I need)
