My pivot arm and bushing looks different. there doesn’t seem to be a little snap ring to get it off. Maybe under the plastic?

I have some wiper slop but the joint seems pretty tight so I’m hesitant to break into it further.

It’s an 89 FJ62 and there was a rubber boot. This is the section that attaches to the motor.

@beno ever see one like that? ^^^

Just ordered one and I’m hoping it fixes my problems. Also @NLXTACY could you elaborate on the ground wire affecting the speed of the wiper motor? Did you change the location Of the ground bolt-loop for a more solid ground?

No I just replaced the wire with one gauge larger.

I'm if you are going to sell the arm Bushing!!!

Waste of money for me. I am unimpressed with the product and just as unimpressed with the vendor who seems to be unwilling to get back to me after I reached out to them regarding my negative experience. I did consider that it could be user error and also received no reply when asking for advice.

Your setup should look something like this...

...But after trying a million different times to get the thing to install, I was still at square 1 looking like this:

The product appears to not be machined quite large enough at the contact point with the wiper linkage 'loop' for it to stay put.

This product may or may not be a faithful reproduction of the OEM bushing, but i will say that the OEM bushing lasted for decades before going out, and this product did not work at all.

Keep in mind that I have waited close to a week before posting this review, in that time the seller has not once messaged me back despite being constantly active on this forum doing other things.

I was at my WIT'S END with this product and situation, but luckily NAPA part # 6003505 works quite well with some very minor modification. You also get 4 bushings so you can afford to mess one or two up.

Hopefully this is helpful to anyone looking to tighten up their old and tired wiper linkages.

WTF?! Garret I have no emails from you. Did you reply to the email links that are part of the invoice? Did you contact me from the site? I honestly do not have an email/call/text from you. I’m not on MUD very often at all anymore because I’m in the middle of other projects far bigger than a stupid grommet that I didn’t want to make but folks kept asking me to.

At this point absolutely throw it away and I’ll refund your overly priced solution. Sorry it didn’t work out for you. For the 40 odd folks it did work for without issue I’d say I’m sorry I spent a crazy amount of time and money making these because you should have just gone to NAPA.

I really do appreciate the refund. This would have been a more amicable had you just responded to one of the several PM's that I sent you. Please note that the Ih8mud conversation said that you had read my original message and much of my frustration is based on that and the fact that you didn't respond. In terms of your activity on I h8Mud, i think your ih8mud's 'activity feature' shows that you are using the forum quite a bit more than you have stated. NLXTACY

Look, I'm sorry I had to call you out on the forum, but I felt it was appropriate given your non-response even after reading my initial message. In terms of your unwillingness to make the product, that was never communicated, and at $20 for a piece of plastic, I was hoping for some level of response.

Again, thank you for the refund, and i hope your other projects are going well.

@GarrettS I literally only care about one thread on MUD and that is the 80 series turbo thread because I have tens of thousands of dollars, two years and hundreds of man hours tied up into that and there is too much as stake. Being called out on a $20 part that I will never ever ever ever break even on, just to help the community, does not bring me the warm fuzzies and frankly just makes me question why I should give a crap about doing stuff to help the 60s side except for the fact that I own a 60 myself.

Sorry it didn't work out, You are made whole. NAPA for the win.

I'm not here to damage a reputation, I just felt that my purchase did not matter to you at all.

You aren’t damaging anything. It’s just annoying.

Moving on.
I'm sincerely sorry my purchase was such an ANNOYANCE to you. I tried to support a forum vendor first and waited a reasonable amount of time before providing negative feedback.

I hope your 80 series adventures are doing better than your customer service!!

Sorry I’m not here to make you feel good about a $20 part that didn’t work for you. It didn’t work and You got your refund and you found an alternate solution. Leave it there and stop looking the fool.

You are ONE, out of few thousand happy customers, that is unhappy. It. Happens. I will never make everyone happy because some people will not be happy even when they are made whole. So continue venting as you see fit because it obviously makes you feel better. 🙄
