Guy's maybe you should kiss and make up! @NLXTACY i haven't bought anything from you so i really can't judge as far as being a customer but as far as a future one the way your acting as of right now actually bothers me. I think you should step away from the phone or computer and calm down before you say some more negative things that may actually hurt your business. Just my .2cent

@tmxmotorsports Unfortunately this is part of the whole circle of product development. I am a company of LITERALLY one person working out of my garage. I do not have much of an ego nor am I a narcissist. I do not do what I do to get recognition for me. I don't really think about what people think of me, good or bad. Its just not something I concern myself with. I DO care about the stuff that I build. I have always let the product results speak for themselves. I'm not a sales person. I don't ever do the hard sell. People can complain about me personally all they want. People can also complain about my customer service, I don't get many at all that complain but they of course occur. Sometimes its something I screwed up and I try to go out of my way to fix it, and sometimes I got the luck of the draw with just a serious a****** customer. It happens, and I deal with it. But being called out on a public thread on a forum without contacting me through the proper ways to contact a company and saying my product and customer service is crap...well I'm going to get pissed. I'm allowed that. I repeatedly manufacture products for people (sometimes at a loss) because I know they could use it, not because I'm trying to shove product down their throat.

If this $20 part (and one person's response to it) and my response to that, is ALL it takes to drive away potential customers...well I don't like that but I will accept it. Anyone that knows me here knows I am not about the dollar, I never have been. I am not a customer service provider. I make stuff. I fail at some and succeed at others. Thats it, nothing more, nothing less.

Yup a 20 dollar part but what if it was your precious turbo kit that someone has a complaint about? Not trying to argue or pick a fight here i get it you make things and are a one man band and not a customer service representative but its your business so handle your business the way you want.

Customers who pre-order that kind of money deserve to complain all they want. But the funny thing that I’ve learned, after doing product development for 20+ years in three industries, is that the loudest complainers are for the $20 part not the $6k part. It never fails and it blows me away. Folks in my “precious” turbo thread are so emotionally invested and frankly just crazy excited but someone took on that battle.

On a $20 part no one gives a crap how many requests I got to make it. No one cares how much ridiculous time and effort went into making the tooling to make these. They don’t care. They want to click a button and have it arrive just as quick as Amazon Prime. No one will have the emotional investment in a $20 part like I do. It’s just a dumb piece of over priced plastic that didn’t work for them.

Well not anymore :P
I especially don't care about my own 60 now :P
I need you to care about my 60, to spend every waking second dreaming of how to make my life incrementally better, the 4 hours a month I drive it, and sacrifice everything for me.

It's still your product that you developed and sell no need to bash your customer over them buying the product that you offer no matter the price of the product the way your putting it its like your customer has to spend thousands of dollars on a product that you offer just to have the right to have a complaint why is that?

If ANY person (customer or not) slams my stuff publicly, I will unapologetically respond. It can be a $1.50 product or it can be a $6k product. If that person decides to ratchet up the retort, I will retort in kind.

My issue is not about the product. I would have bent over backwards to make it right. Its the response. Some may not like that I am responding the way I am, I can't control someone's emotions. But I can control the narrative about my stuff.

Too many posts and too many responses wasted on some bitchy Millennial with 50 posts who probably couldn't get off snapchat long enough to properly install an unobtanium bushing that worked for everybody else (including me) that no one else would spend the time or money to produce because there's prolly very little if any profit.

You will notice in the picture posted by said bitchy he has failed to remove the small snap ring holding the bush. Was this the issue? Dunno. Don't care.

Kudos to Joey for making all these little bits that keep these old beasts on the road. Place the guy on ignore.

Oh, btw, 80's suck. :p

So your bent out of shape because your customer came here on a thread that you created about developing and selling the product that your customer bought from you to complain about after your customer had already reached out to you not in public with no response and then you bash your customer on this public forum on your own thread i don't get it. Like i said before its your business so handle your business how ever you want.

@tmxmotorsports Then yes, its my business and my product and my thread, may I please handle it how I like? Pretty please?

Oh and now it appears he ****ed up the install. I went outside and JUST checked it myself after what SS brought up.

And no, once again that is NOT why I escalated it but please feel free to form your own conclusion. You are posting on a thread that affects you zero because you, admittedly, have never been to my site. But you feel you need to involve yourself here and throw your opinion on something you have ZERO stake in. Coming to a thread to openly threaten NOT being a customer after not being one in the first place is like me "threatening" not to buy Birkenstocks because they don't use Corinthian leather. I was never going to buy then in the first place but I feel like I wanted my voice heard about something I wasn't interested in in the first place

Holy hell!

You wanted to get involved so here you are. I'm not mad at you. I don't know you, but I honestly don't care. I have folks relying on me to get stuff out to them. If you are not already a person who enjoys what I do then I have no hope in trying to get you as a customer. I'm ok with that. I need to take care of those I have, not those I don't.

FWIW, the pic posted by @NearJetties is an Aus bushing that is for aftermarket replacement linkage not avail in USA and won't (isn't supposed to) work with stock USA linkage.

Confident it’s not that. The pics I posted are what I found as purchased from the original owner. It had a sealed rubber boot, looks similar but not the same as the Aussie one. Mine doesn’t have a full cup and is much thinner. Plastic composition looks different too.

Mine appears to be original and looked untouched. I had to cut the rubber boot off.

I have no documentation from the previous owner if it was changed. They saved every receipt and didn’t have the sophistication of finding Aussie parts or anything beyond the dealer (i.e. not a mud member).

Based on that I’m not satisfied with this explanation as to why my linkage is different. In the end, it was fine so I greased it, put the boot back with a zip tie, and forgot about it.

If the bushing didn’t fit, maybe you discovered a mid-production design change, maybe someone swapped in a different model wiper linkage, maybe you f’d up. It doesn’t matter. For what’s its worth, Joey is obsessive about the quality of everything he does and in my experience, will do whatever it takes to make things right.
