Noticed this morning that I had water on the windshield seal in the lower corner on the driverside. Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who will reuse my glass and reseal it with a new windshield seal?

Thank you for your help.

No, but if you find someone, or if you decide to tackle yourself, let me know. I have a half 80 with perfect glass in it that I want to put into another car someday.

Kryger Glass off Metcalf will try to take it out the glass and put it back in with a new seal for $150 plus taxes. Binswanger Glass in Shawnee, 913-631-0660, wants to try and reseal it with the old seal still installed because they can't guarantee to remove the windshield without breaking it to then apply the new seal. The reseal only costs $45 + taxes. Probably give that a shot first.

Do you think that will help with wind nose? I don't have moisture getting in, but the wind noise is getting worse. I've been wondering what to do for that. Let me know afterwards if you can tell a difference in noise.

If you’re going to put a new seal in, BRING THEM AN OEM ONE! Lots of reports of aftermarket seals not doing the job. Also, make sure they follow the steps outlined in the factory service manual. It calls for both a seal and the glue/epoxy/sealeant. Do it the right way, and it shouldn’t leak.

Let me know how they do. I talked to them and it sounds like a messy, time consuming job to do it right.

Have you hear about the “fire truck mod”?

What's the fire truck mod? After a quick google search, I didn't see anything that looked like what you're referring to.

I'm going to try the polyurethane sealant first. *fingers crossed*

Did this work? Noticed this morning that mine is leaking in the same place.

Debating on if I should pull the windshield out of my parts car and replace it at the same time. Mine has 2 small chips and pitting from all the grinding.

So far, so good for completely dry around the windshield. Even after sitting through some of the heavier downpours we've had lately with the thunderstorms. Even held in a Car Wash with the Jet Dryers last week (had been hand washing it previously).
