I acquired a small rock chip and need to get it fixed before it spreads too much. Safelite is booked out for a month. Have you used anyone other than Safelite, and do you recommend them?

Call Noah at calibrated glass. 512-992-5170

Best windshield experience I've ever had, and others I've sent his way have been very happy.

X3 for Noah. He did my 200 windshield and his tech did an outstanding job but unfortunately I can’t get a hold of him anymore for my 100. When I looked him up Yelp says that the business is closed.

That is a huge bummer. I’ll see if I can find the business card for any other info.. I do remember the website never really got going but maybe there’s something else.

I got the reference from Berli’s.. and if you know the level of car they repair Noah’s level of work makes sense. Maybe worth seeing who is doing their glass now.

I’m reaching out to another guy that used to work for Toyota and now has his own business.
I’ll report back.

Anyone else got any suggestions for a windshield replacement in Austin?
I'd like to stick with Toyota glass for my 2016.

I tried to contact Noah every way I see how on his business card, no reply.

Personally I’d consider going up to Dallas for vidriokar based on his videos working on a LX570. That’s a long haul for a windshield for most people though.

I was able to secure an appointment at Safelight in BFE East Texas with same day service. Guess all of the Austin shops are slammed with repairs related to the ice storm/mess.

I’ve had two interactions with safelite and both were total fails. There is absolutely no way I’d let them near a late model cruiser.

Saw this guy on fb regarding LCs. Ozzy Pineda. Hail and Collision Specialist. 10611 North IH35 atx 78753. I havent been by there but he responded to me via FB. Theres another place on Burnet Rd that I talked to about rivets one time and he seemed knowledgeable. Think it was Select Auto Glass, Maybe Richard?

Anybody have an update on this? Need a new Windshield on my 200 series in a bad way.

I emailed vidriokar (the pro in dallas) twice but never heard back.

I left a message with Toyota of South Austin asking if they did glass replacement in-house, but no one has returned my call. I'll try again tomorrow and report back.

~2 weeks ago, I was driving on 71, and a bolt hit my windshield, so I'm now back in the market for glass.

FYI - if your front window is tinted and you are going through insurance for a replacement, be sure to ask if they will cover the cost of the new window being tinted.

I used Pure Auto Glass to replace the windshield in my Tundra, but am bummed, (and jealous), to see that they have relocated to Colorado.

I peeped the Select Auto Glass instagram page. Looks like they've done a handful of GX460s over the years. Does anyone know if that has similar process (and pitfalls) to a 200 series?

I found Vidriokar's company FB page, which is active. He listed a phone number to call for quotes (rather than requesting a quote via email like his website suggests). We're supposed to chat this afternoon. Ideally I'd get this done locally, though I will be in Dallas soon for work so it might just work out.

Toyota of South Austin outsources their glass replacement to "a guy." Getting them to answer a phone or return a call was too challenging, so I drove over there and asked.

This company came recommended by Land Cruiser Specialist, but the Cedar Park location. When I spoke to the Cedar Park location they directed me to the Lamar location. I spoke with the Lamar location and they sure sounded familiar with 100 windshields.

Gonna go with LPAG Austin (Lamar location) for the windshield swap. The woman on the phone was very enthusiastic about Cruisers and had a funny anecdote a Japanese RHD import that recently passed through their shop.

The guy at Select Auto Glass knew his stuff, but it took a few weeks and multiple follow ups to get a quote. I even bought all the trim pieces and replacement clips to take that task off his plate. He was responsive for a bit, then ghosted me when trying to schedule an appointment.

Same lady I spoke with at length about the LC glass. Make sure to give us an update when finished.

I used the LPAG in San Marcos just last week. They knew about the rivets and such I also made their job a lot easier I had purchased all five new mouldings as mine had been covered in 37 tubes of black RTV. It was 295 for them to pull my windshield out clean up the rest of the goop, and put it back in the correct way. So far, so good.
