Hi all. Bit of a wierd one here. Weather is warming up down my part of the world so figured it's time for the roof to come off. No worries there. Every now and then I like to also fold the windscreen for the real deal top down experience, but my windscreen won't go down all the way. My wiper motor cover gets in the way. And if I remove the cover, my wiper arms get in the way.

Now, my cover is a home made one, and my wiper arms are modified from a 75, so I know I'm already no dealing with a 'stock issue'.

Also, my tub is a 66 (we think), my windscreen frame and hinges are from a post 75 (wiper motor at bottom).

So what I need is some input from someone else, maybe some measurements from a stock set up to tell me what it should be and I can remodify to get to that. Specifically how far the motor cover protrudes off the frame, and same with the wiper arms.

Going to post some pics with measurements so that hopefully what I'm saying makes sense

I think your box is too tall and you need later model hinges. This is from a 1975 USA FJ40

That explains it. Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. I was told these were later style hinges, but evidently not at all. Now I know what direction to go in. Thanks
