My passenger side rear window goes down easily but almost comes to a stop half way up. I've lubed the mechanism but it really didn't help. Could it be the motor is failing, the window runs are toast or both?

I would guess the window runs are cheaper and easier to replace than a motor.

Thoughts?

Mine has always done that. I think it's the nature of a 100% square window. Both sides are making contact with the slides rather than the front only contacting one slide on the way up.

^^^ or 100% silicone sprayed in the widow tracks helps too. PB Blaster brand silicone seems to be very good stuff!

On the 80-series, new window runs, lubing the mechanism and cleaning out the motor internals and cleaning the window switch internals made all the difference. Guys tried various combinations thereof, but when I took it all apart, I just did them all at one. Was like new afterwards.

YMMV on the 100. Haven't had to do that yet.

Ugh, the dry lube didn't work. Certainly worth a try though and I lube my properly working runs as a preventive measure.

I'll try the window runs next.

If that doesn't work I do the motor. Instead of paying for a new motor I wonder if I should go with a salvage yard motor? I would have to believe that my 100 is the only one where the least used window (Passenger rear) is having problems. I bet 9 times out of ten its the driver window instead.

x2 on the silicone
The rubber/felt material on the window tracks and seal can get hard after a while. The silicone aides in lubing it up.
