Hi, I seem to be getting a lot of wind noise from what appears to be the driver and passanger front windows. It has been like this since I got the truck but I have not addressed it before now. I beleive there was a recall on the LX450 for this and some kind of replacement window seal for the front doors. Has anyone installed this "fix" and if so did it help? I am going to call the dealer but with the age of the truck, I do not expect them to honor the recall.

Thanks for the info.

Andrew

No need to add on any PlAsTiC stuff. There is a tech service bulletin that address replacing seals to deal with the wind noise.

Smart shopper price?

I had some wind noise but somebody on the board told me to try an old body shop trick that worked like a charm............roll window down, place shoe (or boot if you have small feet) between pillar and door near the latch area, and push GENTLY on the top of the door frame until you get a little movement, remove shoe, drive, listen, and repeat as neccesary.
Good luck
Dan

Tech Service bulitin is correct, not a recall. I will call Lexus and see what they say.

The foot in the Window method seems a little scary to me ;) . With my luck I will brake something and the door will not shut!!!

Thanks again.

All reports I've read about this TSB is that it's hit or miss. Some claim it works, others complain that it doesn't do anything. I know it dodesn't really add anything, but...just to let you know so you're not too disappointed if you don't get great results.

Me? I've got too much crap on my rig right now to determine what's causing any noise -- I turn the volume up on the stereo :D

(this was hashed out some time ago on one of the Lexus sites)

Have you tried to adjust the srike plate?

I've had the same thing on my Cruiser (and posted here about it). Get the date on the TSB, my truck was definitely produced after the TSB, so any changes would be incorportated in it already. Someone told me the parts for that TSB is really more of a box of random seals (ie there is no magic "replace this seal" and it goes away). I haven't tried to bend the door yet, but that might be next. I also suspect the seals between the mirror and body. I'll be interested to what you find.

Seal kit is just a generic kit to help reduce noise ,, there is no tsib for a certin noise just a blanket one for all models

Thanks for the pic. Has anyone applied this seal kit to see if it works? Any pics of these things actually on the vehicle?
