Will this part work? CDan?

I was at the dealer getting parts for my head rebuild work and asked about a iPod/iPhone kit as well. He brought up PT545-00082-CK which he remembered worked in a Corolla (not sure of the year) and a 2008 tC. Now, does anyone know if this cable will work with the factory radio out of a 07 FJ Cruiser/4Runner? I dont have my radio with me as the cruiser is down at dad's (head job). The cable is only about $50. If my cruiser was running, I would love to try it just to see because I can always return it if not. This part# was for a longer cable, there apparently is another one which is about 12" long. This is a image of what it looks like.

Any ideas? CDan, do you know?

That cable plugs into the interface port which is installed in the dash on the TC.

You would need another part which I don't believe is real easy to find. You might want to look for the accessory cable that can be had for the Camry which just hangs into the glove box.

Hmm, is there a part number for the Ipod cable to connect to the radio I am referring to? The parts guy said the shorter cable was for the tC, but the longer cable fit a radio in the corolla (the radio that looks like the ones in the FJcruisers, 4Runners, etc.).

Sorry, it was just a quick search I did earlier, and I'm not in the part dept. just have access to the service information.

Here's what you may be looking for on the Corolla.

The part number is highlighted at the top, the important thing is in red at the bottom.

I believe all the newer radios are Satellite ready. It should have a small plug with smaller than normal pins to accept that harness. I actually have an aftermarket satellite harness that I pulled out of my toolbox and compared to the pic you posted to make sure it was a no-go.

Edit: This is the same kit I was thinking of where the cable hangs down into the glove box (or wherever you choose to put it). Here's a pic of the connection to the radio.

Thats what I was afraid of as well, SAT required. I found online some sites that did not really confirm or deny the need for SAT radio. Oh well. I guess its back to the normal way of iPod connections.

No, it's just that the radio has to be "Satellite Ready". AFAIK, it just has to have that plug on the back, then it will have the controls already built-in, there should be a button that says "SAT" or "AUX".

My button says "DISC*AUX". I guess I will have to pull the radio to see if the plug is there for sure. Anyone have a pic of the rear of the 4Runner/FJ Cruiser radios?

I have a FJAMMER radio out of an 07 fj cruiser with the 6 disc MP3 changer built in that I know works with that cable. If you want it, I could let it go pretty cheap.... PM me if interested.

I have the stock radio fro, the cruiser. Do you know if the connections on the rear are the same? I have heard some differences between the jammer radio and the stock (but not physically seen the jammer).

The FJammer has 4 connector slots on the back, the standard 2 which run power and the stock speaker harness, one that can be used for Satellite connections or an IPOD controller, and another 20 pin connector for additional aux. connections etc..... I have some pics in a post I made of my FJAMMER install if you care to look for it.

Your IPOD connector looks like it is made for the 20 pin connector on the FJAMMER that is not used by the factory harness.

Hmm, just looked up the pics on your install (the detailed ones of the connections. I wish I took a pic of the back of the stock FJC radio. I cant remember if it had three or four connections in the back. There were ones on the back right side (the antenna, and a second one), I remember those. I guess I will have to tear the radio out after my head work. Oh well. Thanks for the help guys. I just wish I could find a pic of the back of the stock FJC radio. Cant seem to find one.

***EDIT***

Found a pic

Wish I could get a closer one, but thats the rear of my radio. Same connections as the FJammer? I found on this thread someone saying the 20pin (far left) is for the steering wheel, AUX. The 12 pin is for CD changer, nav, etc.

Doesnt look like the connector i originally posted will work. Dang. I will ask the dealer for more possibilities when I get there again.
