I have found tons of pictures of Scion radios installed but none of a Fj Cruiser radio. So I thought I would post a picture of my install. I actually followed the instructions for the Scion radio and it was pretty much dead on. My factory amp had died so this was the perfect cure. Now I need new speakers , so I'll have to start searching for that next. The screen of the radio is actually a gold color, for some reason  it appears green in picture.

Looks good ... and it says TOYOTA on it too!

So whats the skinny on it? Does it hold multiple CD's? Don't see one, but does it have an auxilary input on the front or the back? Ohh, or CD changer inputs on the back, (which can also be used for MP3 player)?

ipod compatible?

It only holds one cd, no aux input on front that I can see. Have a friend with one and he plays MP3 and WMA format on it. No clue how as i am not much of a stereo guy. Ipod I have no idea if you can use it. Just ask your toyota dealer if a 2008 FJ cruiser will. Here is picture of back of radio

Same stereo that is in new 4Runner. No IPOD hook up, plays MP3's, WMA. Not as poweful as Scion but looks good and is better that the stock unit.

Couple of questions:
1). Where did you buy/how much?
2). You stated your factory amp died - does this H/U drive the speakers directly then?
3). Did you need a special wiring harnes or was it plug 'n play?
4). Any difficulties/tricks to getting it installed?

Thanks,
dmos

From left to right the 20 pin socket is the one Toyota use to hook the steering wheel radio control and aux input and the 12 pin socket is to hook a external changer, XM radio, navigation, up to 2006.

This aux input could be used to hook an ipod but this HU will not control it.

You could get the P.I.E. Toyo3-AUX and plug it on the 12 pin socket or go to a junkyard and get from a Scion the 20 pin wiring harness with the miniplug female socket in the console.

How's the radio holding up? I just got one and am planning to do the install. Have you ran into any issues?
