I have a 99 LX with the AHC and I love it. I have added skids, roof rack, and front and rear steel bumpers. To compensate for the added weight I added the king springs in the back and my pressures are all in the factory range. I am installing the Slee AHC override tomorrow. The only reason that is going in is because it is a pain on forest roads to be going up and down from Hi to N between the flat smooth parts and the rocky slow parts. I know some people mention using the AHC override as a permanent lift but with 295/75R16s on it, there is no reason to drive around all the time with a 2" lift. It still looks tough but handles like a stock LX in normal height plus you get all the benefits the AHC has to offer like adjustable suspension settings and low mode for loading the roof rack or the rear cargo area. The override is not permanent either by the way, it is a switch that basically bypasses the 18mph auto lowering function. I actually bought an OME setup with the intent to rip out the AHC. When I got under the car to start installing it, the engineer in me wouldn't let me rip out all this great engineering and technology and I am very glad I did not. Knock on wood but I have no problems with my AHC especially with the new rear springs. I am contemplating LC TBs for the front to help with the ARB, winch and Skids on the front. Haven't decided on that yet. I have a 20' flat bed trailer that the AHC handles fine (of note the AHC will adjust back to level once you hook up the trailer so you might need a longer drop hitch than what you might expect). You may have already gotten it but if not $8500 for an 01 with 208k that is one owner dealer serviced is a rare find and won't last long. Good luck.
