The ABS is disabled when the center diff goes into the "lock" position. The information that the center is locked is telegraphed by a "position indicator switch". If the signal isn't sent, the ABS doesn't know it's supposed to stop working.
I would not condone this unless the front driveshaft has been removed. In order for ABS to really know what is happening, each wheel must be allowed to have some independant movement. If front and rear or side to side are locked and a wheel locks up, opposite wheels that would otherwize still roll will also lock up. The resulting lock-up of wheels that would otherwize be able to stop the vehicle completely blows the mind of the ABS computer and you roll off into the sunset...:whoops:
