G' day! I just brought a 1993 gxl 80 series of my dad, its got a 2'' OME lift and 1'' spring spacers so 3'' lift all up and was wondering whats the biggest tyre I could run?
THANKS.

35 - 37" tires will fit but you will most likely have to lower the bump stops and / or trim some if it see's any off road driving.

Fit on, seem to. Now... usability is going to be a bit of an issue.

Do you plan on driving over anything bigger than a beer can? Do you wan to be able to accelerate faster than a 3 year old on a trike? Have you considered where you are going to put a 37" spare tire?

Big tires imply big terrain. To have that size and be able to flex, you're going to want something in the range of a 5"+ lift, new gears in the front/rear and maybe center differentials, some work with a Sawzall, bumpstop extensions, someplace to mount a spare, upgraded axle shafts, upgraded birfields, spare axle shafts & birfields, heavier rear lower control arms, lengthened front control arms to correct for castor, etc...

You might want to give the newbie guide sticky post a good read before buying tires that large.

On the other hand, if you're planning on just having big tires to show off on the driveway, go for it.

IMHO YMMV

short answer,

yes, I run 3" and 37's, i have moved the front axle forward, run standard offset rims, short bus front bnar and rear bar, 60mm rear bump spacers and 40mm front, and they just touch everywhere, with the extra long 12" travel shocks, but if your tyres dont rub, it means you can fit bigger ones.

[some build details in my sig, which will update soon now Im back out of hospital]

It depends on your definition of "fit". In my experience a relatively narrow tire and wheel is key to fitting them in the stock wheel well/flair, also wheel back space needs to be just right. You will need some bump stop extension, so I would go with slightly more lift/longer shocks to recover some travel.

I even found a driveway to show off in!:flipoff2::p
