wich hubs are best

I need to get new hubs for my 60 and wondering if there are any opinions out there. Many guys stand behind the Aisin hubs. any opinions from experience?

aisin is really the only choice... nothing but horror stories with the warn units.

also, are all of them the same? (Aisin) meaning if I can scab a pair from an '85 4runner, will they be the same?

86 runner no, but the inner hub gear can be swapped out with a longfield one..

Which you are gonna do anyway when you get 30 spline longs

keep in mind, if you kill a hub and it destroys the stub.. Bobby won't warranty it..

yep, that's what he says on the site. have you heard of any, or seen any of the aisin hubs stripping out?

But they did not have the stud increase..

Keep in mind that I'm in Australia.
I have more faith in my AVM Hubs which are made in Brazil, than the Aisin's that I'd likely break again.

There is an article about the hub re-enforcement in one of last years Toyota 4WD owner mags, don't recall which one it is.

I upgraded my hub gears not only for the warranty but for the piece of mind... I carry an extra hub because I'm pretty sure they'll explode before the gear.

I've explode three myself and I only run 37's .I have the long field hub gears now after wrecking a long birf . He didn't tell me about the warranty issue when I got the axles . It also wasn't on the website at that point. Seem to be holding up well now though . I guess time will tell.

good info guys. I have a set of long's hub gears on the way. I also told them that they may want to mention the warranty issue pertaining to the hub gears on the web site. anyway, thanks. I can't wait to start flogging these axles!!!
