Thats the event, crazy as it might look no one can hate since its the only pig to make an event. That and it was only about 9 months after I bought it for a dollar.

Hey Jason - Congrats man!! Now I know where the $$ going to weirdest places meant!!

Awesome pig, I looked at that a few times on the board. I noticed that in your sig a few days ago when you replied to the "Cullowhee Winter Campers" thread.

Glad to know the madness has you in a firm headlock!! :grinpimp:

nothin but love man! seeing as how freedom runs a buck o' five these days i'd say you did just fine! cant wait to get em all together:bounce:

We definitely need to get them all out at once. Maybe we can start a new pig run. Theres at least a couple more down here in the south.

How about to the end of my driveway and back. Or if we are really crazy. Around the block.:D

Sure you'll be able to stop at the end of the driveway? We should definitely try and do a pig run though. I bet Jeff would come down for that, and Henry or Nathan might want to bring that pig out as well if its running last I knew it wasn't. I'm sure theres a few between va nc tn ga al that might want to try and make it out as well.

I think a pig run is in order...... any ideas?

JULY 4th pig roast........carolina beach or something?

i know that would be a tall order since lots of others plans likely to be flying around. personally i guess id rather be in the mountains anyways.

PIGS ON PATROL maybe another blue ridge parkway tour???

July BBQ pig Ralley could be possible. UC has always done a BBQ around the 4th and since it is on a Wed I don't see why we couldn't ralley the pigs for it and do a small run. I will talk with Alan and see if he will let us use his land to do a ride.

I dont think we should piggyback the pig run. It needs to be its own event let the other cruisers tag along if they want.

ok ok whos got my radiator? i hear a 60 will work w/ some modding. i just bought one from lakeshore rad. and it must be for a 40. side mounts and all but too narrow. i'll give a shout and see if they got anything else but i hear they are hard to come by.

There was one on ebay recently might even be there still can't remember when I saw it. I have a spare I might sell but it has already been patched once and has a pinhole in a new spot now.

Iron Pigs= Grill and Pork= Lexington BBQ Festival / Cruise in/ lumber jack contest/ all kinds of activities...

maiden voyage

Ok so Jason and I had too much time on our hands today so we deiced to work on his new piggie and take a trip. Steve (FJ40Z) came by and once we had her running well, we decided to take a quick trip over to some local trails. The ole F had a tough time getting going, but once she was rolling it was a blast, other than me not getting the passenger door shut well and almost falling out. Minor issue. So we take the 55 and Steve's 40 out and all pile in the 55 once we are at the trails. We had a few pucker moments with some lean, but that could be us just being completely new to the 55. Not to mention that it is SOA with a body lift on 35's. I love the lil piggie. It climed right up some of the steeper hills and went through the mud very well also.

We did have a couple minor problems. We stalled the pig out in some deep mud. Once we did this, we had trouble getting it started. So Steve and I walk to get his 40. Once we were close we had trouble getting through the mud. He is on AT's and was having trouble getting traction. So we drive it 2 miles back to Jason's to pick up my 40. We get back and make it through the muck ( I love my swampers). We get Jason pulled out and while we are checking the battery connections, alternator, and starter, the police arrive. Apparently we are not supposed to be there. In our defense though, there was nothing posted anywhere and we were not the only ones there. The officers were very cool and I think we have conviced them to get a cruiser. So we played with the starter a bit and got the ole 55 started.

On the way out I was following Jason through the holes. I went through one of the deeper lines and my lack of lift for the 40 caught up to me. I got hung up in some ruts and got buried. Jason tugged a couple times and pulled me free. By then the cops had walked back up to where we were and I think they were trying to goad me into hitting the line harder to try again. :flipoff2: I didn't give in and took an alt line and we headed out. All things said and done, we had a good initial run and the 55 has loads of potential. It is going to be a blast to see that thing once Jason gets done. I think our little trip could be classified as a nature run too since we saw a massive owl and a Heron. I did take some pics and even a couple clips with my dig camera which can be seen here.

Enjoy the pics. :grinpimp:

ha ha beat me to it> THE PIGGY RUNS LIKE A GUMP!!! i had a blast and the McGuyver moment to get er running again in the presence of the popo was just icing on the cake. I Have to commend the cops for being very cool about it even though they had no jurisdiction as it was not illegal ; we were nice they were nice everyone went home happy. erymer and fj40z i just took the pig up to get gas and saw officer richards again and btw i do have turn signals. Hes in trouble now cause i gave him a UC card to come search the for sale sections. thanks for coming with, the pic of me puttin her in gear for the first time is the best, like " i really think we should take a chase truck" type of look.
here are some more.....

oh an the piggy will not be making the Asheville meet nor Cullawhee nor anything else 250 miles away til there is a diesel/trailer in the mix cause ive driven all of 5 miles on pavement and it scares the ever livin' s#*t out of me

Man had a blast today guys, It doesnt get much better than that. A pig, two 40's, two cops(two very cool ones I might add) all in 2 hours time AND less than ten minutes from the house, what more could a guy ask for? Jason, the pig rocks!, gonna make a great trail rig. It was a honor to be able to be there for its inaugural run.
