Why does my 81 40 have 2 steering stabilizers? (1 Viewer)

I am replacing the 28 year old suspension parts on my cruiser. I got all the shocks done today and put the greasable shackles on the rear. When I jacked up the front to start on the front shackles, I found 2 steering stabilizers, which was a drag since I only bought one replacement.

Is one of these an add on from the PO? He had some crazy balloon tires on it when I bought it. One looks like it is clamped on. Is that the extra? Any problem if I can it now that I have stock tires and wheels?

factory one is mounted to the frame. Other one on the axle is aftermarket

Aftermarket.

I'm not sure if there is any benefit with having two? Or are you better of with just one good one like Old Man Emu.

X2! It's bolted with a plate to the steering stop on the axle. Pitch it and stick with the one mounted to the frame.
