Why do people get rock sliders, but not skid plates?

Here’s a couple of pics from the lx570 metaltech sliders.
Exhibit 1 flush or above the frame rail. Nothing protrudes except a few low profile rounded Allen bolt heads
Exhibit 2 view up at sliding rail and beginning of ahc plate front
Exhibit 3 front bracket thicc
Exhibit 4 fifth leg at the RLCA mount
It’s hard to photograph but the vertical against the frame is continuous plate front to back
Downside of all this pro - 90 lbs per side
Apparently it catches a good amount of gravel

LOL I have that same collection of gravel in my slee sliders
