hahahaha. okay i just got back into town. you guys are cracking me up. i have been out wheeling the dusy and camping and what not. we are still putting this skid plate together. sorry for the delay.

from now i on i will choose to ingore the idiots lol. what was one guy saying about not replacing the stock crossmember?...idk i forget. another moron. and then the other guy was asking why not use the iron pig one. as i said earlier, the iron pig one is not flat on the bottom and creates an easy place to get hung up on. thats why, you smart asses. god i feel like i am surrounded by morons sometimes haha.

i have been overwhelmed with private messages from people asking me when this thing is gonna be done. sorry i havent gotten back to you all. it will be done by next week or so. and yes, like i said, i expect it to be north of 300 bucks by the time it gets cut out and bent of 3/8". but we'll see. i am not trying to sell it or make any money off it. it will cost me the same no matter what.

heres the 1/8" test fit. it will have drain holes and what not on the final version. i think its perfect for what i want it for.

It's an internet forum, all that crap is to be expected. Ignore them and respond to the people actually interested and those with legitimate questions. The test skid looks great! Love how flat it is. I'm interested, I'll be following along.

I told Hobie I wanted one before I knew what it looked like. I know who is helping him with the design and the basics he described are better than anything else out there. My order still stands. Let me know when and where to send my money.

I'm in still. And hoping that if we pay upfront that would help keep costs (r&d, material in bulk, etc) down. Let us know.
And thanks for doing this!!

Still interested, so free bump & hope you get some time for these in the near future - would really like to see how yours turn out & if it beats the designs already in the marketplace.

Hobies is on vacation for a few weeks, his friend is also moving his shop so things are pushed back a month or so. He has some minor adjustments to make but he does have a prototype under his truck.

Thanks for the update! Lost track of this thread after the stupid new rules moved this out of the 80s tech section.

Looks like me & Cardona are still doing CPR - is the patient (skidplate) dead????

OP, call it if this is dead in the road.

I offered money upfront to help make this happen... Crickets....

Possibly interested depending on final price (how much above $300) and shipping costs.

If this isn't dead that is. :meh:

Any updates??

Don't abandon hope, there is something brewing in the mist, I will reveal it when the time comes..... Seriously!

I've still held since I've been working on another project car, but I need more than a "something brewing in the mist" sort of answer, and I'm a patient fella.

You gotta give a few more details, as long as some of us have waited we deserve to hear better - either from you or the OP, creator of these.

I just had to buy a new welder & so I've got even more reason to make it earn its' place in the shop.

Spill some details, please. Quite a few of us have earned it in all this waiting time.
