Last year, I weighed my rig in its state at the time (pre drawer system, per-RR, and pre-Bush Co XT Max awning) and was at 7360 lb with both fuel tanks full (48 gal total) and no people or gear and was at 7360 lbs. Since then I’ve added Trexbox drawers, fridge, batteries, RR, awning. I just got back from Colorado, and before I unloaded, I went to the scale:

It’s not apples to apples but as part of the 8100 is a lot of gear and stuff, but when you add people and full tanks of gas, I’m pushing 8800 lbs. Anyone else in this zip code? I think I’ll take all of the camping and spare parts, tools and other gear I don’t carry and see what I could possible control st this point w/o fundamentally making changes to the build.

Now this thread has me wondering about mine with a Trekboxx Alpha, Full time Fridge, 24 Gallon LRA, Gear, and Rear Bumper. Errrrrr.

So I took out all the gear, spare parts, and tools, and re-weighed. 7680. So I carry 400 lbs of stuff. Need to start thinking more like a back packer. Driving around at 7680 actually feels different than 8100.

Also…….

I don't portend to be the heaviest as a priority is to build the rig as light as possible. To keep performance and reliability high. While saving capacity for payload.

This is the heaviest I've been on a road trip with 6 adults, full gas tanks, overlanding gear and RTT on vehicle for side excursions, while towing an 8k trailer with full water. 9,040 lbs total on the front and rear axles of the 200-series. AHC handles it great and is fully stable.

I need to get a weigh in with just installed gear including 37s, slider, 12.5 aux tank, house battery, and 10k winch. I have a compact slide and fridge installed, but it takes the place of half the 3rd row that's removed so I think minimal net gain there. If I had to guess, LX570 only is around 6600lbs.

Does this LC make my arse look big?

Yes, one really does need to think lighter. When car camping there is a tendency to throw everything in including the kitchen sink.

I come from the alpine climbing world so my packing tends to be minimalist thus lighter. At the same time it is nice to bring some luxury items. My current luxury is a power bank and a frig. I am looking forward to cocktails with ice after a day of climbing.

It’s been a while since I’ve hit up a CAT scale but this weight is probably still relevant.

Most of the gear in the are relevant to the vehicle and not camping. Things like tools and recovery gear, back packs for hikes, wrappon toilet, some other odds and ends in the other drawer. I do carry my Yamaha 2000w generator in there when towing the camper because it won’t fit in the camper and I don’t want it snatched, at 50lbs it would be nice to ditch but AC boondocking is nice.

I don’t often use the recovery stuff but I hate to part with something like that because god forbid I need it. I carry a kinetic rope that I’ve used once… I probably need to empty the drawers out and really reevaluate but I feel like I’ll keep it regardless.

Anyway, fat shame away…
