And how many miles were on it when it died?

I have no need for it, but I really want the DC Power Products 275 amp 200 series alternator. For my 2FE they built me a custom high output version in a stock case with a custom undersized pulley for better idle output. That thing rocked. Too many other more important upgrade needs first though.

I’d love to see a water cooled sealed version for the 5.7l

Funny you should say that. We have already started the development on these (due to pressure from our petrol brothers here in AU. IM the Distributor for them and we have them for the Y62/QX80 now as well. 200a and 150a versions. You wont EVER need higher as even running 4 batteries and some in the camper/van/trailer they wont charger any faster. I am looking for a USA distributor for this product though but when released i will sell them retail until the distribution channel is opened.

I would think we could put together a pretty decent sized group buy on this once its available for US Spec 200. Happy to help coordinate as I know I'll want one...

70 Series water cooled alternator is over $2,000. Too rich for me.

Retail is $2450 but includes GST (10%) which isnt payable on exports
AU to US makes these around $1650 plus supping.
Brushless, Water Cooled, Totally sealed and 200 amp outputs

Thats before any discounts i can sort for you guys

That's less than I was expecting.

Hey @VooDoo2 do you have an idea of when these might be available in U.S.?

120,000 miles. Positioning of the alternator is a weird one. I had a leak from the engine block that dripped oil right onto the alternator and recently replaced it again. Know space is hard to come by but it's positioning is weird.

Perhaps another use case for the sealed and water cooled alternator upgrade...

As cool (pun intended) as a water cooled alternator is, given the cost, and for my use, I think I'd just carry a spare OEM alternator, or two... or five.
