I'm looking to buy a 13 LX570 with what seems to be a braking issue.

Whenever the brake pedal is pressed while the truck is moving there is vibration/shudder throughout the entire truck and steering wheel. the sensation is almost like the calipers are clamping then letting go in quick order while the pedal is held steady. My first thought was maybe warped rotors, but from my experience, warped rotors usually present themselves at higher speeds with primarily the steering wheel shaking. This is the entire truck vibrating regardless of speed whenever it is slowing down. The shaking is more violent when at higher speeds. There are no lights on the dash to indicate an abs or traction control issue. Anybody have a clue as to what's going on?

Sounds like badly warped rotors, or a sloppy wheel bearing.

On IFS vehicles there could be other issues.

When my rotors were warped, I would feel it when braking at all speeds - including low speed and even when coming to a stop.

Does the pulsing match the rotation of the wheels?

I had the same on my T100 vibration regardless of the speed. Worse at higher speed though.

Thanks for all the replies. I’m gonna start with the rotors.

What’s described as warped rotors are from uneven pad material deposits. The metal is not usually bent. That, along with frozen piston(s) in a caliper, could do just what you’re describing, if it went with wheel rotation. I’ll guess that a pad/hardware/rotor replacement, along with calipers if needed, will fix it right up.

My vibration turned out to be a dangerously lose wheel bearing.Terrible at interstate speeds.

Front I assume?

Yes front. It had been apart at some point in the past.Originally I had a a pulsing pedal at slow speed stops kind of like abs grabbing. It evolved into a rather scary vibration at interstate speeds.Recommended service is every 30k and isn’t for the faint of heart ie; very involved.

Which service is recommended every 30k?

Was the vibration present only when pressing on the brake pedal?

Front wheel bearing repack…
You cannot repack the front wheel bearings on a 200.

You thinking of a 100-series?
