$3500 for both. They didn't last 24 hrs. Anybody here?
I would like to chat about buying one of them.

That is a smoking good deal. Missed out on that one. Hopefully they arent posted again in a week in the same condition for three times as much.

I think I know who it was. The seller told me where he was from 😎

I was just talking with him about some 40 parts and he said he didn't have much anymore. Unless he is hiding something from me

The seller said it was a LC enthusiast.

Maybe the buyer will chime in here.

I offer to buy them that night and they were already sold.

Again? I haven't bought a 40 in 5 or more years and the one I bought then is still sitting in my driveway. But they did end up at my house, but I was not the buyer. The green one I have some history with that spans more than 20 years. It was an emotional purchase and maybe not a rational one as I look over what we purchased. In 22 years a lot of things can change and some of them aren't always for the better, I wish it looked as good now as it did in these pictures. The white one I have no emotional attachment to and it has a locked up 350 in it which adds to the drama. But it was part of the deal. So here it sits with a big question mark on it. I'm looking at it and asking myself what did I get myself into. I'm not looking at parting either one of them. As many imperfections as there may be, these are salvageable. There is no flip planned. But the possibility of the white one going up for sale may happen.

I never owned it 20 years ago. It was the fish that got away. I had a silver 60 on this trip, this was Cruise Moab 2000. The previous owner was an original member of NW Cruisers (97-01). He didn't do a lot with the club as he had a weird work schedule. But he'd fab up all these cool little things and give them away. Like he made stainless door pins and he made high lift jack bases that bolted on to widen the foot print. He was just a real genuinely nice guy and his wife was so friendly too. He was a SeaBee so the last 15 years or so he's been on deployment after deployment. While he was away the kids took the Cruisers and pretty much used them up until they woundn't work anymore. And then they sat decaying. A mutual friend of ours called me and told me that he was going to sell them. So I did have an in on the timing of sale. I had just sold both of my WRXs so I had the cash readily available. And boom the next thing you know I'm standing in the mud in the pouring rain winching up tireless Land Cruisers onto my trailer. I sure as heck didn't need another project. But I kept getting drawn into the green one. The ad was up longer than it probably should have been because he couldn't find the craigslist link to remove it. While I was loading the green one a guy walked up and offered me $3500 for the white one. He was really sort of convincing. He told me I wouldn't have to make 2 trips. That would have been a major betrayal of trust on my part. They guy also told the seller he was stupid and he gave them away. I'm not sure where that came from as we had never discussed with me or the seller what I actually paid for them. I may have have given him 5k for them and the guy didn't have a clue what our business arrangement was nor was it any of his business. Another strange thing happened during this whole ordeal. There were 3 pickups sitting in front of his house at lunch time with guys in the trucks waiting for him to get off of work. Another Cruiser friend of mine had called me and told me that one of his friends was camping out waiting for him to get home because he wanted to buy them. I imagine the other two were thinking the same thing. I told my friend to call his friend back and tell him I already purchased them. I didn't realize there were so many cutthroat Cruiser guys around. But I do understand that reasonably priced Cruisers are tough to find. I guess I'm a little old school and call the guy before I show up at his house. And I guess while I'm down the rabbit hole of putting in some details. I didn't actually buy them. My wife did. She thought it would be a good project for me and our two sons. Since getting them home I've accessed them and I'm figuring out what I'm going to do with them. The white one I'm still not sure what is going to happen. My one son keeps finding wrecked Chevys to pull an LS out of. That is a rabbit hole I can't afford to go down. It currently has a locked up carb'd 350 with a 700r4.

Also, If anyone is interested he's selling off his 65 Ford pickup as well. It is a really cool old truck. He's owned it like 35 years. It is turquoise and white and really straight and not rusty.

Congrats, nice 40s Eric. The white one needs some Narva LED tail lights.
The white one needs probably more love than I'm ever going to be able to give it. The goal for now is to get the green one running.
