This is sort of a rhetorical question, since I just bought a set of 265 Revos (after swapping off a set of 285's), but 255's seem to be sort of the best of both worlds - theoretically would handle a little better on pavement and still give the ground clearance of the 285's.

Who makes them? Specifically, does anybody make an "all terrain" tire in this size? Best thing I've seen in this size is the Cooper S/T or the BFG MT, but they're a little more agressive tread than I would like for highway driving.

Many of the Les Schwab Wild Country lines are available in that size. They are just rebadge Kellys. JUNK tires in my opinion.

Actually, the Cooper Discoverer S/T is the finest driving road tire I've ever had in an aggressive tread. If you can find it in search, you'll find many incidents it impressed me, including a duel in mud with a guy on new mud tires.

How do they handle on wet pavement?

I thought they were rebranded Toyo?

Sorry for the hi-jack.

Nope! Toyos are currently made in Japan. The Wild Countries I believe are made in the US. Kelly Springfield used to make them for Les Schwab. At one time there was a recall on one type and they had all the names they were branded under. However, in comparing Les Schwab's current line up I'm not sure they are still making them for Schwab. There have been some tread design changes. Les Schwab does sell Toyo tires. The Open Country MT is a Toyo but it says Toyo right on the side it isn't rebranded. I think the Proxes is a Toyo tire too.

Interesting. Some of Les Schwab's tread designs are very similar to Toyo's and, as you mention, Schwab sells Toyo. I just assumed they were Toyo. Design immitation, I guess?

You want to talk about design imitation. Compare the Toyo Open Country MT and the Cooper Discover STT.
