Good Afternoon All!
I will be pulling the front passenger door apart to replace the horizontal chrome strip between the glass and the metal. While I am in there, I will:
Add boeshield to the window tracks
Add sheet sound insulation to the inside door skin
Repair/replace moisture barrier
Check the passenger lock tumbler for id number so I can make spare keys (came with only one)
Anything else I should check inside the door while it's all apart?
thank you!

Maybe some CorrosionX sprayed at the bottom and front of the door until it drips out of the weep holes to get at the rust that's surely developed there. Also at the latch mechanism to keep it functioning well.

Thank you garfieldthecat, good suggestion!

Be careful spraying anything inside the doors in the hope it will slow down rust.
Many wet corrosion inhibitors stink (Fluid Film is horrible). And if you’re sensitive to it — it’s just going to get 100X worse when the door heats up in the sun.
You could easily permanently contaminate the inside of the vehicle with its vapors and never be able to hang out inside the car again.

I used Corrosion X but I don’t recall if it has an odor or not. I’d be surprised if it didn’t.

My advice — don’t spray anything inside the doors. You may regret it forever. I did.

I sprayed rattle can paint inside my doors just to cover any rust from oxygen. I don’t have any rust but it’s also to keep it away

Also now is the time to upgrade your speakers if you haven’t already.

Well, it's one step forward and two steps back! I finished the repair on the door and noticed the weatherstrip looked a little odd. Famous last words as the weatherstrip had shredded. Now its order a full set of weatherstrip and start over!

Isn’t Beoshield the same purpose as CorrosionX? The Beoshield from what I understand
is a waxy anti-corrosion spray? That’s what I’d be putting along the whole bottom of inner door.

Have you thought of rolling on some sound deadener? It makes door speaker sound nicer, removes
the tinny vibes

The product I'm about to use on my vehicles has a main product for the exterior like the frame, and another for the cavities, which doesn't stink. Nothing like sweating for undercoating protection just to be gassed out of the vehicle due to the smell of it.

i like to use boiled linseed oil for these types of areas. Stops rust in its tracks.

@dbleon, Vintage Teq has the black rubber pad that goes between the lock cylinder and the door, maybe that will help stop the rattle?
@cruiserpilot when I use the boeshield on the window tracks and related mechanisms, I used the spray liberally so a lot of overrun is now protecting the bottom of the doors! Also, I used Fatmat Rattletrap Butyl and I have noticed a significant improvement! The only problem is now I need to the rest of the vehicle!
