Same here on my '99 and the power difference is notable when running 91/92.

My 2001 manual doesn't say regular octane? It needs premium. I can tell the difference after about 50 miles on regular. Where did you read this?

John, do you mean you can decipher a difference in accleration, or is it just a fuel economy difference you refer to? How about that killer climb on I-17 between the Sedona exit and Flagstaff? Is it a dog on 87 and a thoroughbred on 91?

I notice the lack of power everywhere. With premium my 35's don't bug me at all. If I run regular, the thing starts to feel like my 80. Even from the red light it feels like a "2nd Start". I've tried to save $$$ but can't. I'm guessing the thing de-tunes itself so it runs OK.

I haven't had that much of a change running 87 as Shotts. But, I'm not running 35's either. The 35's probably magnify that change in power. I have been running 87 consistently for about 2 months now and haven't noticed a big enough change to go back to 91. I did get my 295's on finally and have only run through one tank so far. Still, the power is pretty good on 87. I think I'll put 91 in it on the next fill up to see if I notice a difference with the 295's on.
