Which blue is this ?? (1 Viewer)

Ok guys, need some help here. I picked up 5 cans of 1966 Sky blue (854) to do some touch up painting on my 40. Well I tried out the color on some aluminum and the color is WAY off. Too much green in the spray.
So, either my 40 is NOT sky blue (as I thought) or the paint is wrong.

What do you guys think, is my 40 sky blue, here is the comparison.

Looks more like that mid-70's smurf blue.

Edit: 854 is the mid-70's sky blue. Hmm....

sky blue

I had mine painted not to long ago the 854 sky/smurf blue. There isn't much green in it. Sorry, the pic isn't the greatest.

Yup, that's the same blue as mine (above).
I will contact the seller and see what's up. I just wanted to make sure I was right.

To match paint properly .. you take in a sample piece and get your paint supplier to match it.

My cruiser is 854 (sky blue) but if I was to order that paint code from my paint supplier without providing them a sample .... I'd never expect the paint to be a perfect match.

What many people don't realise is that companies like PPG change their mixing formulas all the time (because they change the constituent base components).

And apart from this, I don't think what you show of your cruiser in post #1 is Sky Blue 854 at all.
