Hi guys,

Just looking at RockAuto and I figured after 185k miles and 12-13 years, my 1999 LC could probably do for a new fuel filter. I'm pretty sure based on my mileage changes in the past year that I'll need new front O2 sensors too. Yes...sensors and fuel filter are still original. I've been fortunate to have a good...not perfect anymore...but definitely solid and good running LC for it's whole life.

Anybody know or have a recommendation on brand of aftermarket fuel filter from RockAuto? Or recommend I just stick with stock (might have to talk to my nephew who is now a Lexus dealer service tech)? Looks like there is a Purolator fuel filter on RockAuto being clearanced for $9.

What about O2 sensors? Seems like Amazon usually runs the best prices.

I personally would go with OE, it lasted you 185k miles right? Next best IMO would be Napa Gold which will be a repackaged WIX. Still I think OE is the way to go with pretty much every LC consumable component (except shocks).

I got my Denso O2 sensors at Amazon, did not feel like shopping around, they were around $50 apiece.

You got 185K out of the original parts, and now you're gonna reward the truck by putting cheap aftermarket parts in it? Seems like false economy to me.

My opinion: call C-Dan, get the right parts.

Call C-Dan or Beno, do it right.

Why do the O2 sensors if you don't have a code? Even if they throw a code, truck still runs, replace them then.

Because some users report the fuel economy will start to tank before the parameters are off enough to throw a code.
