Where to stay in Charlotte?

My wife and I are headed to Charlotte next weekend. We haven’t spent any time in downtown and just coming down for the day/night. Where should we stay? Not sure if we are going to go to TopGolf or not, but I do have to go to the southern part of Charlotte to meet a fellow Mudder on Saturday.

So looking for recommendations on hotel, food, something to do. We are headed out early Sunday so only be hanging out Saturday.
Would be nice to be an Uber ride away from the hotel or whatever.

Airbnb something. If you want to stay in uptown the loft is good and right on the hart of uptown. You may not by happy with what you see there tho. Uptown has gone downhill. There is what is call Solo or noda. Breweries restaurants etc. there are not far from each other and you can ise either uber or the light rail. South End is the closest to all breweries light rail and new restaurants.

South end is not big. Anything around the light rail. West partof dilworth

I'd echo south end as well...definitely over uptown. Lot of AirBNB options in that area I'm told.
