Where to get bumper & fender flares paint?

I have a 97 LX450 with the 1B1 paint code (which is Champaign) but I don't know the bumper/flare codes. Where do I get this paint? I want to do it myself to save a little cash. Thanks!
 
The actual code is hard to track down. You may habe searched and seen that..... most threads trail off without a resolution.

It seems a thread by user Jcruise perhaps had some good hints or close
Matches and i believe code comes up but was not able to be found at store.

Id chose a "close enough" or different complimentary color and go to town.
 
Local auto body store set me up with two-part spray cans of the common dark pearlescent green. Cost was reasonable (~$25ish/can). They should be able to get it close or may even have the code.

Be sure to heed the warnings on fumes when shooting this stuff. Works great, but not in your lungs.
 
Most paint stores can simply 'color match' anything you have existing on the vehicle.

^^^^^^^ It 'works great' in your lungs too. The results for YOU just aren't that great. ;)

I picked up a couple different cans of paint for the silver/gray LC I've got here:

Used the paint code found on the door. Have yet to use it(cold AF where I live and haven't patched holes where the flares came off). They shipped pretty quickly too. Maybe they can help you out.
 
The paint code on the sticker is for the body. @mdawg has the ticket.

Napa can mix mix the correct bumper color and put it in a spray can (or three) for you. (At least the main paint depot in Charlotte can.) I'm doing this myself as soon as the weather changes in the favor of the work. PM me if you want me to have them mix some for you too.

Remember you'll need primer too. Paint is designed to stick to primer; primer is designed to stick to the substrate.

I would add to this, that at least for the PPG product, that assumes that you will be adding clear coat, the base is extremely runny. You won't be able to just shoot some into the bottom of a soda bottle and then brush it on as touch up paint. When you spray it out of the can, it does get good coverage and results, but that means blending and if you are anything like me, that is another challenge. I have the same color though and it is pretty dang close, but I am not quite ready to try my skills on the leading edge of my hood to clean up the bubbles and chips that I inherited from the PO. Looks great on the rocker panels and on the door jambs that got worn down at the sill by the PO's boots over the years.

As a side note, nothing wrong with converting to more black as it goes great with everything. I use the satin or semi gloss Rustoleum on pretty much everything that I take off, refurbish and then reinstall. It's cheap and it looks good and you can change your mind or touch it up with very little recourse.

My own $0.02, the gold bumper looks worse than a black one.

I stopped in at my local auto body supply store and asked them. Here's the page from the PPG color book:

Those codes (045, 1B1, 4M9) mean slightly different things for different models. They'll look it up on their computer to get the correct mix. For example, his computer lists 1B1 as a silver, and I think 4M9 was a beige.

Your best bet would be to remove your flares and drop them off at an auto body shop to have them scuffed and re-shot. You'll need a base coat and a clear coat at a minimum. Unless you already have all the right equipment (HVLP gun, proper respirator, a filtered booth), you're way better off handling the mechanical work of removing the fenders and leaving the painting to a professional.
 
Your code on passenger door jam, and glove box should contain base code #, and trim code #’s. I know my 91 has it.
