Where to get Bow Shackles

A REAL hardware store, or any 4x4 shop. You should find them at Tractor Supply type places as well.
Get out of the city limits and it shouldn't be hard.

X2 on getting Crosby Shackles!!!! They are expensive, but are properly made, identified (load rating and makers marks) and proof tested. Any commercial rigging shop will have them (look up Wire Rope in your yellow pages).
Beware anything made in China, they are really common in farm shops and hardware stores, almost always of poor quality (but pretty!), dubious material and are not usually adequately proof tested (ie, they could bend or shatter under load, and really leave you in a whole world of pain....). I have actually seen them make shackles and pad eyes out of cast iron or steel, with no subseqent heat treating... very weak, VERY brittle.... Ka-Boom!!
There are other good brands of rigging than Crosby too, some american, some european, check with your local professional suppliers to what they have, and use, and what certification it has.

Tractor Supply Company or any other farm supply store or tractor parts store carries them.

Co-op country stores, DandB tractor supply, Big R......just to name a few.

yup, you don't want these things to break on you when pulling hard, so unknown provenance and quality is an issue. OTOH, they are cheap enough that you can easily pick one 3x the needs to provide some safety cushion.

I have been pulling tractors, other large equipment and cruisers with TSC shackles for years. Never a problem. The local farmers also use them for their equipment.

Maybe not a fancy name and a claim that they are made or stamped as made here but they do the job at a fair price. Pardon my ignorance, however, don't we get most of our steel from China?

Thanks for the leads. Tractor Supply was sold out so I got them at Northern Tool. Stamped and rated. Thanks again!
