I have done some forum searches and decided to replace my dim fj60 headlights with a set of Hella H-4 E-Code 55/60 because from what I read these would be simply plug and play, an upgraded wire harness & relays will not be needed. Please let me know if that is true. I have done several google searches and it seems like the only place I can get a set is through amazon from susquehanna motor sports. Does anyone know of another source for these? I am looking to buy a complete headlight kit. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome Jumpman. :flipoff2:

Also check out daniel stern lighting. And fleabay - stuff pops up there frequently.

If you are on a budget take a look at the IPF e-codes. I think they are as good or better than Hellas. If a bit of $ extra kicking around check out the cibies.

This is one of my few "must do" mods on 60's. Makes a huge improvement! Next plan for a better wire harness - mud member has em for decent $ and great build quality. Get the light out of them they are capable of!

hth - gl!

I have Hella E codes in my Mini-truck (large rectangular lens/reflectors) and while better than any sealed beam that I've ever used I'm not all that impressed. The now ~25 year no-name JC Whitney $19.95 (then) 7" round "cheapies" are much nicer to drive behind. I don't if it is the round vs. rectangular that is the difference, or if the cheapies are just better.
Was it me I'd step up and buy Cibie 's (sp?).

The one time that I tried to actually buy something from Stern he wouldn't sell it w/o asking a bunch of questions. After the third round of emails back and forth I gave up & went elsewhere.

thanks for the input, I ordered a set from 4wheelparts $80 with free shipping. I will look into an upgraded harness next.

Can also be the bulbs! Real H4 bulbs made to H4 spec will look much better.

I have my Mom buy them and send them over the pond. The Euro spec bulbs look much better than the ones I buy here in the states.;)

Hella brand 55/100's, for what ever that might be worth....
