Mine are shot, due to bad knuckle bearings, so I'm doing the knuckles this weekend and wanted to do the TRE's at the same time. However, Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters is out of stock. SOR has some but Kurt's price is so much better ($50 less). Any suggestions on other place to get cheap TRE's? Thought about OEM, but that was short lived, $300 or so even with TLCA discounts at the dealer or other connections.

CCOT has some cheap, any reports on their quality?

I talked to Kurt a week or so ago and he had indicated that his shipment was expected the middle of December...unfortunately time, (occupied) garage space, and the all mighty $ ruled...I decided to go with CCOT's as there seems to be more made of the "555" on the box than the actual product quality...I guess time will tell!

I think I can wait till Kurt gets his TRE's in next week, but I want to do my knuckles this weekend. Will it be bad for me to do the Knuckles and then wait a week to replace the TRE's?

Try Gary (Mudrak on MUD) He sells Japanese 555's at good prices. Got mine from him when Kurt was out.

I appreciate your patience (and everyone elses too). To prevent this from happening in the future we have really been stocking up on the quantities of parts we keep on the shelves. Just a few years ago we only stocked 5-6 knuckle rebuild kits at a time, now we stock 30+, TRE's used to be one or two of each kits on the shelf, not 10+ of each. Good news is we are selling more parts, bad news is we are still getting our inventory up to handle the load :D

As far as doing the knuckles seperate from the TRE's. Go right ahead, you really won't be adding any additional work. When I do a knuckle overhaul I just leave the steering arms attached to the tie rods anyhow. Then when you get your TRE kit you can swap them out right on the rig. No lost time :D
