My two reverse lights quit working. One was blown, I replaced both and still they wont work I looked for a fuse or the reverse switch and cannot find it. Can someone point me in the right direction??? :hmm:

Reverse lights are fed from the gauge fuse. The switch is in the shifter console IIRC.

There are two electrical components there, one is like a solenoid that has a plunger that pushes the lever that releases the shift lever from parking to reverse etc. there is a second one that connects to this one, is that the reverse switch?:hmm:

Idunno. It's been years since I've been in there. According to the FSM, there is a separate reverse lamp switch.

I loked at my FSM and found nothing. Tomorow, I'll check that switch to see if it is the trouble maker.

This switch is proven very elusive! $%#&!

does the "R" on your dash light up when you put it in reverse? if it does, then the switch is fine. Look into wiring issues

Light comes on on the dash, I guess is time to go deeper.:grinpimp:

In my case, both will flicker (instrument panel illuminated R & reverse lights) if i jiggle the shifter while in reverse...i can also make them stay off while in reverse or bring them back on by positioning the shifter differently while in reverse. But when i get them to stay on, they turn off completely after 10 sec or so....

Anyone have any extra insight on this switch?
