Thanks! I'll have to go find it now:clap:

Once you get up the trail to the top you can see other trails in the area...also there were many dirt roads that went off 89 to explore. Next time we're going to explore cut throat rd. :)

Buddies BJ74 without hardtop driving into the waves for some fun (it's a diesel). We actually drove for a ways in the water along the shore. It was all large sheets of rock going far into the water. We came ashore on a restricted Dept of Defence installation and had to get back into the water.:doh::doh:.

Im a hammock guy too. I run a Hennessey. I screwed my back up racing moto gp bikes a few years ago and couldn't sleep on the ground anymore. Gave me the ability to camp primitive again. What hammock are you using?

Honestly I just couldn't afford the Hennessey. I got my double hammock from Woot ($30 or so) a year or so ago and it has been great. took a wal mart bug net and ran the hammock through it, added a Kelty tarp and a few motorcycle straps. it is modular, light, and I can hike it much easier than my tent. setup is a breeze and I have used it through some pretty spectacular rainstorms, the Kelty tarp is a champ. plus being modular I can use the tarp as a sunshade over other parts of the camp.

One recent add to my bag, Corner L brackets. they make fantastic stakes that you dont impale yourself on when you trip, they go into hard ground and are boot friendly.

Only issue is that there are areas in TX that do not have enough trees, still working on mastering the single tree setup.

Went for a quick primitive camping night this past weekend on the Rapidan river just north of Charlottesville, VA. It's a part of a "wildlife management area" that's Virginia's version of public land. Great trout fishing!

nice pics man!

I don't have any campsite photos, but two weeks ago musthave came up from central Florida with his brother and four friends (2 80s, a 62, and a JKU) to camp and ride in NE Georgia. We had five Georgia guys (3 80s and a 4runner) to go with them.

This is my favorite thread I think. Great stuff guys keep it coming.

Here are a couple from last weekend.

This is off Chokecherry point trail:

The next night we went through Lockhart Basin and camped at this nice area:

Took advantage of what is likely the last warm weekend of the season:

I hope everyone who visits these amazing (dare I say sacred) places understands how important it is to tread lightly and take only pictures. Over the years, as we've gone back to visit the same ancient cites, we've seen items disappear. Sad. It's understandable why it is so tempting to take artifacts home, but out of their natural context they are meaningless. We need to save this for our grandchildren!.. and their grandchildren...

Came across a boulder rolled on to the the trail. It looked like someone had shimmied by it but not unscathed. Found flakes of paint on the rock. No way the fat 80 was going to squeeze through so had to do a little trail maintenance:
