Wheel Spacers

I have some minor wheel rub on my tre's, was wondering what the best option is for some wheel spacers. Its on a '71 fj40, all stock suspension. I want the spacers on all 4 wheels so it will look semetrical..and while I'm at it some wheel flares would be cool too. Any suggestions, or any complaints about this setup???

Wheel spacers a .250" thick can be had at just about any decent auto parts store, and not too long ago, there was a thread on them here too...

How much of a differance will 1/4" spacers make visually, I think it will take care of the rub, but I would like a tougher looking stance....while I'm at it.

The .250 spacers will solve your problem but will not make any difference in the look. I use them up front but not in back--no visible difference at all.

I swapped a '79 disk axle under the '75. The aftermarket wheels that I had on the '75 just barely rub the calipers....but it is hard to tell because I can't tighten them all the way. Would .250 or .50 spacers up front do the trick?
What is the difference(offset?) between a wheel made to fit a drum axle vs. one for the disks?

2nd what Paul said. I run 1/4 up front and can't tell they're there.

There is no difference in offset between drum/disc wheels. The difference is that drum wheels have the cneter of the wheels rivited to the outer. (Look at a drum wheel from the back to see the rivets attaching the center to the outer). Disc wheels have the center welded to the outer. The rivets are what's rubbing on your calipers. HTH

If you want to go BIG, there is a PAIR of 2" spacers with all lugnuts on the "For Sale Misc" part of the POR board right now.$75, and I have no connection with the seller. I think that puts a lot more strain on your knuckles and wheel bearings, but looks cool. I mean Kewl.
