Hi All,

I am new to this forum and have a few questions relating to wheel offset.

I have the 5.7l VXR 2013 model and I am reasonably confident that the stock wheels are at +60mm offset. (If anyone knows for sure and could confirm, that would be great).

I want to change the wheels to Braid Winrace T but I am not sure what offset to order. I could take the safe route and buy the same wheels and add a spacer, but Braid will make the wheels for you in what ever offset you want, so I thought it would be better to get it right from the start. Also, one less part to fail.

I am probably going to run Yokohama Geolander ATS LT285/70R17 121/118 R.

Does anyone know what offset I could run, with that tyre and not get any rubbing?

The LC does not have a lift on it yet, but but I am going to put OME BP-51s, so expect to get about 2 inches extra height.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers, Al

Al,

Not a direct answer to your questions, but hopefully helpful info.

Stock wheels here in the states are +60mm offset running P285/60R18 tires.

I run BFG LT285/70R17E 121/118R tires on the TRD 17" wheels - a combination recommended by Toyota - with no rubbing or other troubles on my 2013 LC200 with stock suspension. The 17" TRD wheels are 8" wide with a +50mm offset.

My best guess for your 7.5" wheels would be to stick with the +50mm offset - that combination should have no rubbing. If you could choose 8" wheels, that might be even better.

Thanks for the reply!

So it looks like the tyre size I want will fit.

Regarding the wheels, I should have specified that I will be going for an 81/2" width.

Do you have a lot of clearance with the +50 offset, or is it pretty close?

I don't want anything too extreme, just wanted to get the wheels out a bit more inline with the fender.

Cheers, Al

The only wheel I can unconditionally recommend for the LT285/70R17 tire is 17 x 8 with a +50 offset. This is what Toyota recommends, and has been thoroughly tested by Toyota on the LC200.

There is not "a lot" of clearance with the +50 offset, but there is enough. Wheels are out a little further than stock, but still within the fenders so they can fully articulate:

Also, have you checked the Load Rating of the wheels you want? The stock wheel/tire combination has a Load Limit of 2,512 pounds, so any wheel should be at least as much.

that def changes the equation if you go to a 8.5 inch wheel. If I was gonna roll an 8.5 inch wheel on a 200 series and wanted it more lined up with the fender and also wanted plenty of clearance at the UCA and had my choice of offset I would lean more toward 30mm or 40mm.
