Under the carpet by the air ducts right behind the second row seats I found this. Just curious what it is.

Need a more clear picture. Or if you can find one on it, a part number.

My WAG is antenna for the keyless entry fob. You can configure the car to run with the key anywhere in the vehicle or only in the front seats. That fact implies there are either different antenna sensitivities, or multiple antennas in different spots in the vehicle.

That plug looks like a 120V AC outlet. Secondary inverter plug (the first being left side behind the 3rd row?

Its not an AC outlet. There is a part # on it. PA66-GF33 which isn't making any sense as when I google that I get TPMS related stuff.

Perhaps a sensor in close proximity to the spare, in order to read that wheel’s TMPS? Complete guess on my part.

TPMS receiver?

My new theory is its a momentum sensor that activates the seatbelt retract feature that sucks you back in the seat when you hit the breaks hard or the break assist triggers. I'm only guessing because of the arrow on the part. TPMS receiver is also a good possibility. Not sure why direction would be important thought the TPMS.

Certainly gone down a rabbit hole here. The PA66-GF33 number appears to be the DuPont # for the plastic material of the device. Its not the Toyota part number.

Are there wires connected to it? Could just be a spacer with velcro attached to hold down the carpet.

Nice to have the answer.

I’d assume TPMS antennas would need to be outside of the vehicle, otherwise they’d have trouble with the RF signal.

Nice. Know I’ll be able to sleep at night! How did you find it?

Just looked through the Toyota part diagrams and eventually found it. The Toyota and PartSouq diagrams are amazing resources.

As I recall there we 5 proximity sensors. 1 for each door and 1 for the rear hatch.

Too bad the remote range is absolutely pathetic. Need to be within 15 feet of my 20 Cruiser for any function to work. With clear line of sight, it was easily a quarter mile on my 4Runner.
