I'm looking at picking up this 40 as a project since it's close to my location and the price seems reasonable to me from what I've seen on ebay. However, I'm no expert on what these are really worth. I'm going to look at it tomorrow. I was just wondering what you guys think it's worth, and if there is anything glaringly wrong with this that I should really take a look at.

Harsh. Do you guys think I can do better in TX or LA for under $4000?
Between Texas and LA are Arizona and New Mexico, it's common to find solid ones in this price range.
Shop New Mexico Craigslist, drive a little, save a lot.

Up here in the rust belt FJ40 aren't easy to find in decent shape for cheap money. They are either all rot boxes or $15k or more. Personally that one is missing a lot if I was looking for one I would pay $2000 to $2500 tops for it but I'd probably wait for something that is more complete.

Thanks for the input guys. I talked him down to $3000, but he wouldn't go any lower. I'm going to pass and wait for a better one.
