Mr. G, I'm sure those "Coke Ovens" are on Hwy 133 across the road from Redstone. They were used to process coal from the Mid-continent(or whatever it was called back in the day) mine that is located a few miles behind the picture. I live in nearby and pass by those quit frequently. The other shot looks like Blue Mesa reservoir between Gunnison and Montrose.

I beleive you are correct on the location of the kilns. Thanks for refreshing my memory. We saw and photographed so many places on that trip but didn't keep good notes to identify locations, etc.

+1 on the F650 Dakar. I had one for a while, great bike. My only complaint with it was that it was a bit small for my 6' 4" 325 lb fat ass, hence my switch to the R100GSPD.

I envy you living in CO, so much to see and explore. We consider ourselves lucky to get there every other year.
