you need a 2stage unit... pump is belt driven by the motor and lubircated with oil. The single stage units are loud as hell. I have a 40 gallon vertical compressor i got from grainger a few years ago. I paid about 350 for it and it is american made. it is one of the best tool investments i have ever made.
