I know I am out of my area normally in the 40,60,100 but what year 80s have airbags. Wife will not let the little one in my 40 or 60 b/c of the no bags. Looks like it may be time to part with my built 60 in search of an 80.
Thanks

Airbags were made mandatory on light trucks and SUVs in 1995, prior to that I believe they were any option.

Airbags became standard in the 1995 model year for the 80. The 93, 94 years didn't have airbags, not even as an option.

Actually dual airbags were standard in 1995, according the the 95 print brochure.

95'-97' USDM 80's have airbags....

Bing, Bing, Bing - we have a winner! My '94 cam loaded with everything but the tow hitch and rear air dam. No airbags. I did install airbags tho...in the rear coils. hehehe :flipoff2:

How little? I thought they are supposed to be in the backseat where they are safe from the airbags.

Ditto - this is why you can disable the PS airbag if you've got an infant/toddler car seat there. You don't want an airbag going off toward on of those.

Im the opposite, I dont want a vehicle with air bags. Show her some pics of peopel who got hurt b/c of having air bags.

Kids shoudl be int he back anyways, away from any airbags.

More for her than the little one

She does not like the idea of riding in my 60 or 40 b/c of the little one, meaning she would prefer I ride in a truck with airbags. I know and follow all rules regarding children in cars. Sometimes it is better to just not argue and hey I get to replace my 60 with an 80. Love the 60 but the 80s have come down so much in price now may be the time. Who wants to trade a built 60 an 80. This is nearing Chat

A-ha! The truth comes out! :D

Oh please. For us latte/loafers 80's folks this is heavy duty tech.

I went to an 80 b/c of price, I love my 62, but with the comfort of an 80 and the low mileage I found I couldnt resist. I need to get my 62 cleaned up and post it up too.

I settled for an 80 after losing my 62. The only thing I actually preferred about the 62 was the part time 4 wheel drive and the idea that that the larger front diff might be beefier. Otherwise the 80 wins in every category as far as I am concerned.
